Huck Finn Day

Each fall MDTU stocks Baltimore's Stony Run with rainbow trout, and hosts "Trout Day", a day of trout fishing fun and stream-side learning for local youth in partnership with Friends of Stony Run and the local community. For 2025, we had a great event and the stream should have trout until early summer.  We stock the stream to promote the importance of caring for urban waterways, and to provide a special recreational and educational angling resource in the heart of Baltimore City, inspiring new generations of stream stewards.  Trout Day is typically the last weekend in October held in partnership with the Friends of Stony Run.
